BOP: Broken Orange Pekoe
The Bukhial Tea Estate, founded in 1920, is situated in the Golaghat District on behalf of the McNeil and Berry Company. Workers and their families are all from the rural area of Bokotial. The name gradually changed to Bokial and a few years later finally to Bukhial. Today, this high quality Assam is cultivated on roughly 1,408 acres. One of the unique qualities of this tea is the rough and regularly grainy CTC (Crushing - Tearing - Curling). The cup color is reminiscent of dark teak tones, while the bright crimson infusion develops savory peat notes, and this brew is strong and displays a malty depth.
